Just in Time for Summer

Westchester, NY (Marketwire) June 29, 2010 – Westchester Wildlife, a leading wildlife control company in Westchester, Fairfield, and Putnam Dutchess Counties, has announced its introduction to safe and humane bat removal just in time for summer. As summer arrives, pests are starting to emerge from hibernation. This is the busiest time for bat removal, bird removal and raccoon removal as these creatures are starting to infest people’s homes.

Westchester wildlife removal has implemented a unique and efficient bat removal system that involves the Batcone 2. The Batcone 2 is a bat exclusion product designed to exclude multiple species from residential and commercial structures. The Batcone 2 is a square shaped plastic cone that should be installed depending on the point of entry and time the bats enter their colony.

The number of cones being installed should also be assessed as bats may enter a structure from multiple points, once these points are determined, it’s easy to know where to install the Batcone 2. This is a non-lethal, non-chemical method, with a humane, patented exclusion system that will simply allow bats to return to their natural habitat without being harmed. The owners of the structure also don’t have to worry about being exposed to chemicals or lethal pesticides.

“We’ve been seeing amazing results in bat removal since we’ve implemented the Batcone 2,” said a Westchester Wildlife representative. “People have been able to remove the bats from their homes without having to cause harm to the creatures.”

Contrary to what many people believe about bats, bats are gentle creatures but occasionally they become a nuisance when they feel threatened. If a bat starts flying erratically it’s important to remember not to panic. All the negative stories and myths about bats have been greatly exaggerated. However, bats found in living spaces should always be tested for rabies. If a bat is found in the home, do not chase it. Instead try to trap the bat in a room and call Westchester Wildlife immediately.

It is also imperative to note that if bats are being removed from a structure while they are birthing, it’s quite possible that the offspring could be left behind in the structure by themselves. The maternity season for bats is May through August so if bat removal is a total must this summer, be careful that the babies don’t get left behind.
